Tonga Post appoints new CEO

Mr ‘Aloisio ‘Alipate Tavo, CEO for Tonga Post & Tonga Fast Print Ltd

Nuku’alofa, Tonga –November 5, 2018 – The ICT-shared Board of Directors and Ministry of Public Enterprises have appointed Mr ‘Aloisio ‘Alipate Tavo as the new Chief Executive Officer for Tonga Post and Tonga Fast Print Ltd. Mr Alipate Tavo’s appointment is effective from end of October 2018.

Mr Alipate Tavo has extensive experience working in the Tongan Government, heading various departments in the Ministry of Agriculture, and he worked as a Deputy CEO in the Ministry of Labour, Commerce and Industries. Mr Tavo brings with him a strong background in trade negotiations, diplomacy and economic development, having worked with the Office of the Chief Trade Adviser in Vanuatu. Mr Tavo’s dynamic background in driving economic development and trade for various Pacific Island Countries will be instrumental in his new role with Tonga Post, as he works to serve Tonga Post to achieve the vision and goals of the company in alignment with national and international stakeholder objectives.

Tonga Post celebrates World Post Day 2018

Nuku’alofa, Tonga –October 9, 2018 – The management and staff of Tonga Post Ltd joins Post Offices worldwide in celebrating World Post Day. The purpose of World Post Day is to create awareness of the importance of the postal business in the lives of people and businesses everyday. This year, Tonga Post staff decorated the customer counter area to inform customers of the celebration, and staff held a cake cutting ceremony to mark the significance of World Post Day, and recognize the long service of 2 members of the Tonga Post staff.
